Teal Dearmers

The long-sold-out DEARMERS playing cards from 2021 return in a teal colourway. The back design of these cards is a re-imagination of long-time NEAT REVIEW collaborator Kez Dearmer's 2019 painting "The Alcoholic", featuring a recent embellishment on this painting by Kez on the tuck.

ABOUT THESE CARDS

The fronts of the TEAL DEARMERS sport newly drawn monochrome court cards and spot cards, smaller indices and fatter pips.

The back design of the TEAL DEARMERS display Kez Dearmer's 2019 painting in a phosphorescent teal.

The decks contain TWO Ace of Spades. An Ace & a Face of Spades, depending on your mood for the day.

OTHER CARD STOCKS:

We got very lucky with this print run.

Certain playing card manufacturers offer great print registration, but the stock clumps up quickly — after a day or so in some cases. We hate that.

Other playing card manufacturers offer great card stocks but poor print registration (borders are all over the place). Not what you want.

It was important for us to find a producer that could print our court cards (as fat as they are) with perfect registration, while having a card stock that would last and last and last — even "come back to life" like the old Blue Seal decks do, when you leave them in their box for a couple of days.

A tall order. But we got lucky.

OUR CARD STOCK:

TEAL DEARMERS are printed on a completely unique, soft stock that springs, crimps and shuffles exquisitely, straight out of the box. Interesting use of the Penelope Principle? Right away, sir.

Our card stock is slightly thicker, like our original RED DEARMERS, so these decks are less prone to warping than other 'crushed' playing card stocks.

TEAL DEAMERS Faro, fan, spring and spread perfectly after even three months of heavy, everyday use. We are repeatedly surprised by the longevity of these cards.

TUCK BOX

Carry around beauty. The cards are housed in a blind-stamped letterpress tuck box on a heavyweight art paper from the Bavarian Alps, Germany.
